INQUIRY

"Thinking of questions."

At the D.R.S.S., one of our 5 Qualities is Inquiry. The school defines Inquiry as accepting a lack of knowledge to dig underneath the surface of problems in pursuit of answers, as well as thinking critically. At the D.R.S.S., we mostly use Inquiry to think critically about our work to better understand the work we do, such as how our work is important, what ways we can do to improve our work, and how we can solve problems. As a quality used to brainstorm, people usually use Inquiry and Creativity together. We hope our graduates use Inquiry to ask thoughtful questions that dig beneath the surface of the idea in pursuit of meaningful answers, creating a definite resolution.

Chess

I believe chess is a good symbol for Inquiry because chess players have to think of questions about their opponents future actions in order to win the game.
